The Bremen Town Council members opened bids Monday afternoon for the Community Crossings Matching grant projects planned for next spring.
Mill and two-inch hot mix asphalt resurfacing is planned, along with any sidewalk, curb and gutter replacements as needed.
Bids ranged from about $331,000 to $451,663 from companies Walsh and Kelly, Inc.; E&B Paving, Inc.; Phend and Brown, Inc.; Rieth-Riley Construction, Co., Inc.; and Niblock Excavating, Inc.
The council members voted to take those bids under advisement for review from Water, Storm Water and Street Superintendent Alex Mikel, Town Attorney Anthony Wagner, and JPR.
Work will be done on Bike Street from North Marshall Street to North Maryland Street, Raymond Street from South Washington Street to the dead end, Alexander Street from East Maple Street to State Road 106, Washington Street from East Maple Street to East South Street, Water Street from North Baltimore Street to State Road 331, and Southlawn Court from the dead end to South Stewart Street.
The state’s Community Crossing total support is just under $330,000.
