Argos Town Council members awarded the farm lease for town-owned property on Dewey Street when members met for their first meeting of the month.
When a hearing was held over the lease back in November, Town Attorney Derek Jones noted that about 38 acres was up for leasing. When members met last Wednesday, they opened submitted bids.
The lease was once again awarded to farmer William Voreis. He will pay $131.57 per acre. Voreis is paying about $40 less this year than he did last year, however, the acreage that was available to him was also reduced.
