Argos Town Council Holds Public Hearing Over Farm Land Lease

The Argos Town Council held a public hearing over leasing town-owned farm land near Dewey Street when member met last Wednesday. This process is conducted on an annual basis.

No specific comments from the hearing were noted. However, during his report, Town Attorney Derek Jones shared that the amount of leasable land is about 38 acres.

The amount of farm land that was leased out last year totaled 54 acres but that was reduced since a portion of the property is now being utilized for the on going expansion project at the nearby Manufacturing Center.

Bids on the land will be due by Wednesday, December 4th and they will be opened during the council’s meeting scheduled for that evening.

They can be turned in to the Argos Municipal Building, located at 201 West Walnut Street. If you have any questions call 574-892-5717.
