The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members reviewed a request from City Engineer Rick Gaul concerning Street and Sidewalk projects that were awarded Community Crossing funding. The amount awarded was about $115,000.
Gaul asked to receive bids on the projects that include paving Ferndale Street from South Liberty Street to East Street and Airport Drive from North Michigan Street to the end of the certified mile. An addendum will be included for the airport parking lot which will be paid for from airport funds.
Gaul mentioned that they hope to open bids during the last meeting in November and award a contract in December. The contract wouldn’t be signed until after the first of the year which will ensure funding will fall into place.
The request to receive bids for the projects was approved with a unanimous vote.
Gaul said an agreement between INDOT and the City of Plymouth was presented to City Attorney Sean Surrisi for review in order for the city to receive the funds for the projects. He mentioned that the agreement could be approved pending Surrisi’s review. The board approved that action.
