The Plymouth City Council members considered additional readings on the budget ordinance.
The total budget is $17,893,465 with the General Fund at $8,477,132.
In a previous meeting, Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver explained that $1 million needed to be cut from the budget. During a public hearing on the budget in September, Xaver noted that about $596,500 in cuts were made to the budget to help balance the numbers. She added that with the $1 million transferred from dormant funds in an action taken by Plymouth officials in August, the budget concerns have been satisfied for 2020. She stressed that it doesn’t satisfy concerns in future year budgets.
The council members voted unanimously to approved the second and third readings of the 2020 budget ordinance.
