Plymouth Building Commissioner Keith Hammonds recommended that a city representative be a part of the county’s Unsafe Building Committee.
He told the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety last week that Plymouth is the one entity in the county not involved on the committee. He noted it would be helpful in case there was in issue with zoning in the two-mile jurisdiction.
Hammonds mentioned that he and City Attorney Sean Surrisi will meet with County Attorney Jim Clevenger and the two committee chairpersons on the committee to ensure that all are on the same page.
In the meantime, Surrisi will check with Clevenger to see if the ordinance that established that committee needs to be amended to reflect the change.
The board members did not make an official appointment, but Hammonds is expected to be the city’s representative on the committee. The board will wait until the ordinance is amended to make an official appointment.
