Two bids were opened Monday night for the demolition of 400 E. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
The old Clarke station at that location has been vacant for some time. It was deemed an unsafe structure and was affirmed by the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety for demolition in August.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi opened the sealed bids during the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on Monday night. The bids were from Langfeld Excavation, LLC with a bid of $12,300 and Jackson Demolition Services, LLC with a bid of $14,900.
Surrisi asked that the board approve the lowest responsible bidder after he, Building Commissioner Keith Hammonds and City Engineer Rick Gaul review the submitted bids. They unanimously approved a motion on that recommendation.
