Alyssa Shepherd Trial Continues Wednesday

The woman who is accused of killing three children and injuring another with her vehicle as they crossed the street in an attempt to board a school bus in Fulton County goes on trial in Fulton County Superior Court Wednesday morning.

Alyssa Shepherd faces three Level 5 Felony counts of reckless homicide, a Level 6 Felony count of criminal recklessness resulting in bodily injury and a misdemeanor count of passing a school bus with stop arm extended causing bodily injury.

On Oct. 30, 2018, a Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation school bus traveling north was stopped at 4684 North State Road 25 with a stop arm extended as the driver attempted to pick up four children at a residence.  As the children crossed the road, they were allegedly struck by a southbound vehicle driven by Shepherd.  Six-year-old Xzavier Ingle and his twin brother Mason Ingle, and their nine-year-old sister, Alivia Stahl, died at the scene from their injuries.  Maverik Lowe, 12, survived the incident, but continues recover from injuries sustained in the incident. 

A jury was seated in the case on Tuesday.  Court proceedings begin at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
