Plymouth City Council Considers Amendment to Amend Subdivision Control Ordinance

The Plymouth City Council members considered a recommended amendment to the Subdivision Control Ordinance during their meeting last week.

Plymouth Plan Director Ralph Booker explained that the idea behind the amendment is to better streamline the process and cut out a lot of needed hearings and costs associated with small changes to plats on adjacent lots.

The amendment doesn’t require a public hearing for such minute changes presented to the plan commission.  Booker said the changes do require a review by the Technical Review Committee.

“I felt it was important to have the department heads look and make sure that we weren’t messing with utilities, or something of that nature, to do this,” commented Booker.

Following a review by the TRC, a new deed will be issued on the affected parcels instead of a re-plat.  It would eliminate thousands of dollars in fees in a re-platting process

The Plymouth City Council members unanimously approved the recommended amendment as presented.
