The Marshall County Recorder’s Office is digitizing another round of documents. The county commissioners Tuesday agreed to let Recorder Janet Howard enter into a contract with Fidlar Technologies, at a cost of just over $27,000.
“I want to have this scanning project completed with the miscellaneous books and some of the four volumes that [former recorder] Marlene [Mahler] had had restored,” Howard told the commissioners. “I want to get those scanned so that we can view them on Laredo. And U.S. Imaging will come in and do it, and they want to do it 24/7, like they did before.”
Howard said the entire cost will be paid out of the Recorder’s Perpetuation Fund. The commissioners unanimously approved the contract with Fidlar, along with the 24-hour access for the workers. Howard added that mortgage books will be left for a future project.
