The Marshall County Recorder’s Office is digitizing another round of documents. The county commissioners Tuesday agreed to let Recorder Janet Howard enter into a contract with Fidlar Technologies, at a cost of just over $27,000.

The number of contested races is starting to add up, heading into the May primary. District 1 Marshall County Commissioner Kurt Garner has two challengers so far: David W. Hostetler and Stan Klotz. Three candidates are also looking to become the next Marshall County Recorder: Anna “Buffy” Breeding, William Cleavenger, and Janet Howard.
The first day of candidate filing ended with a few contested races in Marshall County. The county recorder’s race already has two candidates: Republicans Janet Howard and Anna “Buffy” Breeding. Meanwhile, current recorder Marlene Mahler is running against Bruce Snyder for Union Township trustee.
