The Marshall County Council members took care of a few rather large additional appropriation requests during their meeting last week.
About $26,000 was approved for half of the cost for aerial oblique images from Pictometry. Assessor Debra Dunning told the Marshall County Commissioners earlier this year that a contract with MACOG resulted in a significant cost savings to the county as they’re shouldering some of the cost. The contract is anticipated to save the county about $133,000 per flight.
Dunning said the aerial pictures assist the Assessor’s Office in measuring land in the assessment process.
The other half of the county’s portion is due next year which is budgeted in the 2020 budget.
In other additional appropriation requests, the council also approved an additional appropriation of $65,000 to bring the Cumulative Capital Development Fund back to original levels after the completion of phone upgrades. A $42,000 appropriation was approved out of the Cumulative Capital Development Fund for security enhancements for Microsoft licensing.
The council gave permission to spend about $815,400 in State funds to complete payments on the Community Crossings projects on Dogwood Road, North Michigan, 11th Road and 9B Road.
