Crash Involving Semi Shuts Down Northbound U.S. 31 Near Argos Monday Afternoon

UPDATE from ISP PIO Sgt. Bohner: The passing lane is now open at the crash US31 NB at 13th Road. The right lane will be closed for an extended time due to offloading the semi.

A crash involving a semi truck led to the closure of the northbound lanes of U.S. 31 near Argos Monday afternoon. The Indiana Department of Transportation tweeted that it happened at the railroad crossing between 13th and 14th roads.

As of Monday afternoon, no timeline was available for when the road would reopen, and drivers were asked to avoid the area. Indiana State Police and a tow truck were on the scene, according to ISP Public Information Officer Ted Bohner.
