Construction of the Aquatic Center in Plymouth is nearly complete.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi told the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members Tuesday night that he and Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez toured the building to make out a punchlist of some items that remain.
“We’re working with the contractors on plans to get those things wrapped up,” mentioned Surrisi. “We just had a construction meeting this (Tuesday) afternoon and they had taken those punchlist things – some of the more complicated things – back to the subcontractors to come up with some proposals on how they would resolve any issues.”
In the meantime, Building Commissioner Keith Hammonds issued a certificate of occupancy late last week.
A formal invitation for a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony is expected to be delivered soon, but Surrisi said the plan is to have those festivities on Saturday, Oct. 5 at noon at the location on Miller Drive.
