Plymouth Building Commissioner Updates BOW on Demolition Orders

Plymouth Building Commissioner Keith Hammonds updated the Board of Public Works and Safety members Monday night on two properties slated for demolition.

Hammonds asked the board members to affirm the demolition order for 400 E. Jefferson Street which is the old Clarke station.   It has been inactive for the past few years.

They approved the action.

As for 881 Broadway, Hammonds said City Attorney Sean Surrisi sent a letter to the two owners and gave them until September 7 to come to an agreement in regards to the future of the property.  It is owned by one person who lives locally and one who lives in Florida.  The pair has not been communicating on the issues that surround the property, specifically water problems.

Previously, Hammonds said the local owner and some tenants who live there are attempting to save the property to avoid demolition.
