Culver Town Council President Ginny Bess Munroe engaged the town council members on a possible Stellar service project, if the Office of Community and Rural Affairs approves this project proposed by the Main Street Visitor Center organizations.
With a proposed plan by the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation to erect an electronic sign on U.S. 30 to communicate community events to residents, that same concept could be passed along to all of the municipalities in Marshall County.
Munroe explained that the signs could be placed along major gateways to help communicate events or other messages for community members.
Munroe said that the Main Street Marketing and Communication Committee members found that not everyone is engaged in social media so this project could be an outreach to everyone.
Grant money would cover the cost, if approved by OCRA.
Any revenue collected by putting messages on the signs would go back to local Visitor Centers for uses deemed fit by those officials.
Munroe said that any feedback would be given to the committee to gauge further interest in the project.
