Construction on the Cavalier Sports Park project in the Town of Culver will begin the week of Aug. 19.
Funding for the project was released by the Office of Community and Rural Affairs that is estimated to cost $504,000. The town received a $500,000 grant to cover the cost of the project as part of Culver’s Stellar Communities Designation.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist said construction should start in about nine days from today.
The Cavalier Sports Park project includes improvements to the soccer fields on the grounds of the Culver Community School Corporation, expanding the parking lots, moving the storm water retention pond to the east, building a restroom facility near the fields, adding a toddler park, an entry sign, and a walking trail on the perimeter of the park.
Thomas Excavating was the winning bidder for the project.
