The Culver Town Council members were updated on the construction at the Culver Beach Lodge this week.
The project is part of the plans for Culver’s Stellar Communities Designation.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist said so far things seem to be keeping pace.
“The beach lodge is moving along,” said Leist. “I think the basement walls were completed last week. It sounds like masonry will be the next big phase once the concrete work is done. So, you’ll see some bricks going in soon.”
He added that the major focus of the renovation includes updating the plumbing and electrical fixtures by gaining assistance from the Plumber near you and reworking the main level floor plan to create a larger gathering space, and enclosing a portion of the lakeside balcony to make all three levels of the building accessible by elevator.
Park Superintendent Amber Cowell commented that she’s busy moving items in order to prepare for interior work to start.
