The Culver Town Council approved a motion last week to conduct survey work at 530 S. Ohio Street. The cost shall not exceed $1,900.
In June, Culver town officials closed on the donation of the commercial property at that location at a cost of $11,400. That amount was part of the donation agreement in that the town would pay closing costs, title insurance and the appraisal of the building.
The property previously appraised at approximately $245,000.
The Culver Redevelopment Commission members also approved a cost up to $5,000 to gather an architect’s review of the existing conditions to evaluate future action of remodeling or demolishing the building to better serve a town’s purpose.
It’s not known yet what will happen with the property. Some earlier discussions included use of that space for a start-up business, a new Town Hall building, or a community center. There are a number of opportunities that haven’t been approved, but will be discussed in future meetings.
