The deed for the property at 121 S. Jackson Street in Bremen was recorded into the town’s name this week.
Town officials will be tearing down the property to make way for a larger project. As previously reported, the property will be used as a larger streetscape project in a flex street. A flex street allows daily traffic and parking while being flexible and accessible for events and festivals. There are no curbs which allows as a shared space for vehicles and pedestrians. A pavilion will be in the middle of the road.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said he could get the ball rolling on tearing down the structure. He noted that he would notify the gas company and the electric and street utility departments that the demolition of the house will be done soon. Weldy said he’d like to remove the house by Oktoberfest.
Most of the items in the interior of the house have already been removed.
