Plymouth Redevelopment Commission Gets Update on Winona Building Products

Officials at Winona Building Products in Plymouth are working out a few more kinks before more people are hired at the facility.

Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi told the Redevelopment Commission members this week that company officials are working to secure some more federal incentives which has caused a delay.  They are timing those incentives with any TIF incentives before the end of the year.

In the meantime, employees have been training on what equipment they have installed in the building and are fine-tuning a customized piece of machinery to produce products.  Shift managers are also training, but hiring should be getting underway soon.

Surrisi said the company is selling the southern portion of the building as it doesn’t suit their purposes or possible future expansion plans.   He stated that the full operation is in the northern, newer part of the building.

Winona Building Products is located at 506 North Street in Plymouth, which formerly housed the Del Monte company’s production lines.
