The property owners at 881 Broadway Street in Plymouth have a deadline to cooperate with each other to clean up the property or else it will be demolished.
Two property owners own the property. The buildings run over five different properties where one owner owns four of the properties and another owns one. One owner and the people who currently live there are attempting to save the buildings instead of tearing it down.
Plymouth Building Commissioner Keith Hammonds said the property owners are not communicating with each other in order to finish the job.
“A lot of the problem is the water system needs to be turned back on, there’s a meter on one end of the property,” explained Hammonds. “At this point, they’re not communicating with each other, they’re not working with each other. They’re working together at this point.”
If they can’t reach an agreement, the board members will move forward with a demolition order which was approved in a previous meeting.
The property owners have 30 days to come to an agreement or the city will act on the demolition order to clear the property.
