The Marshall County Council discussed the budget extension for the Project Income fund for the Marshall County Community Corrections through the rest of the year.
Executive Director Ward Byers noted that this budget was inadvertently left out when approving similar processes in June with grant extensions for Community Corrections, Jail Treatment, and the Prosecutor’s Diversion funds through Dec. 31.
Byers explained earlier that the organization normally operates on a Fiscal Year budget that runs from July to June, but the state is restructuring the budget to operate on a calendar budget, which will bring it in line with the county’s calendar year budget. These budget extensions are necessary to ensure funds for the organization through the end of the year.
Any increases that were afforded to county employees in January would also be included in a request to amend the salary ordinance.
The council members approved the requests with a unanimous vote.
