Emergency responders were called to attend to a child who was unresponsive after being pulled from the Lake of the Woods in Marshall County Saturday night.
Indiana Conservations officers say family members were ending a birthday party when they noticed the back door of the home open and the 1-year-old child missing. After a brief search, family members found the child floating in 18 inches of water. The child had only been gone for five to 10 minutes.
Emergency responders arrived at the home in the 4100 block of Lake Shore Drive near the town of Bremen just after 8 p.m. and transported the child to the hospital. Officials say the child remains in critical condition.
