Bremen School Board Updated on Secure Entrance & On My Way Pre-K Projects

Bremen School Board members were informed about where some projects stand during their June meeting.

Superintendent Dr. Jim White explained that one project aimed at improving student safety and securing the schools’ entryway is still in the planning stages.

Dr. White noted, “Architects are in the process of doing construction drawings for the expansion of our two-story administrative offices for the front side of our elementary school.”

He said they’re anticipating that the bid process for that project could possibly get started in October.

Dr. White also mentioned that some cost estimates are currently being obtained for a project that will be tackled thanks to some grant funding.

He stated, “We’re also securing quotes because we have a grant to renovate an area to accommodate our pre-k program.”

Earlier this year, Bremen Public Schools received a grant to help implement an On My Way Pre-K program at the elementary. A grant of $100,000 was awarded to assist with renovations and another $60,000 was provided for teacher salaries.

Dr. White said that some light construction on that project can be expected relatively soon.
