Plymouth Redevelopment Commission to Meet Tonight

The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members will meet tonight where a presentation for overlapping taxing units is expected.

Updates of the various TIF District projects include Hoham Drive, REES Theater, Aquatic Center, Pretzels, Inc., River Gate South, Winona Building Products, and Centennial Crossing.

Plymouth Fire Department Chief Rod Miller is anticipated to present supporting information concerning a request for funding a new fire truck.  The projected cost of the new fire engine for the city is approximately $700,000.  The truck that he plans to replace is on the department’s rotation schedule which is 20-25 years.

During the RDC’s meeting in May, Miller said this request is usually supported by the Cumulative Capital Development Fund out of the city’s budget, but it won’t be available to support the purchase of a fire truck.

The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission will meet tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers room on the second floor of the Plymouth City Building at 124 N. Michigan Street.  Those attending are encouraged to enter through the Garro Street entrance.
