The Marshall County Highway Department works hard to keep up with mowing operations, but Highway Superintendent Jason Peters told the Marshall County Commissioners on Monday that it’s been an impossible task this year.
“We did run some employees over the weekend,” said Peters. “I really want to try and get the mowing done at least one time ASAP.”
The commissioners encouraged employees to work overtime to get some of the mowing done.
Peters commented that work from the county residents helps and he’s appreciative of the effort.
“I would like to personally say ‘thank you’ to all the Marshall County residents that help with those type of situations and that do take care and maintain their front, sides, and above and beyond. It really does help. I notice the same thing with cleaning out tiles and beaver dams. I know there are plenty of residents in the county who help out with that as well.”
Many projects have been delayed about a month due to the rainy weather this season.
