The construction portion of the Hickory Road Bridge (Bridge No. 81) in Marshall County is officially complete.
Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters told the county commissioners last week that architecture and engineering firm DLZ presented him with Rule 5 paperwork to confirm the termination of the construction at that site.
Peters stressed that the form is for the construction and erosion control and that it is successfully complete. It also confirms that about 70 percent of growth is seen at that site.
The mitigation site remains active.
The Marshall County Commissioners approved a motion to allow Peters to sign the necessary paperwork to close out construction.
The bridge replacement project took about two years to complete from planning through construction. The Hickory Road bridge, or Bridge No. 81, is on Hickory Road, north of 8th Road on the Center and Bourbon Township line.
