Argos Officials Approve Street Closure Requests for TGIF Argos & Parkside Church Carnival

Two separate street closure requests came before the Argos Town Council when members met Wednesday night.

According to Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney, Library Director Jane Hall came before the council seeking permission to close off Smith Street for next weekend’s the TGIF Argos event.

Councilman Charles Randy Snead said that they can make sure some barricades are provided for that purpose. Michigan Street from the library to the stoplight will also be closed during the event.

The first TGIF Argos event will be held from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, June 14th. It will feature live music and fire spinning as well as a variety of food and craft vendors.

In addition to approving the street closure request for TGIF Argos, the council permitted Parkside Church of Argos to close off a section of South Street when they host their annual carnival event in August.
