Suspect Arrested in Alleged Bremen Child Molestation Incidents

A suspect in a report of alleged child molestation acts in Bremen and in the state of Georgia was arrested by Bremen Police Officers on Tuesday, May 28.

The investigation started on May 10, 2019 when the Bremen Police Department received a phone call from a local police department of a child molestation report that allegedly occurred in Bremen approximately one year ago.  The officer reportedly found out that the assault was made by a man named Rick but the last name was unknown.  Police say forensic interviews that followed revealed that the suspect, Rick Bane, molested two female juveniles under the age of 14.

The suspect was later located in Mishawaka and detained for questioning.  According to the report, Bremen Police learned the suspect’s actual name was Ricardo Hernandez Vasquez and he had an outstanding felony warrant for child molesting out of the state of Georgia.

Vasquez, 46, was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on preliminary charges of child molestation.  Two counts are charged as a Level 1 Felony, one count is charged as a Level 3 Felony, and two counts are charged as a Level 4 Felony.  These charges are in addition to his felony warrant of child molestation.

Vasquez is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
