Parking will be restricted by the Culver Elementary School on Lake Shore Drive to enhance safety.
The Culver Town Council opened a public hearing on the matter Tuesday night when addressing the amendment to the traffic and parking ordinance.
The no parking zone will be extended 20 feet on the north side of Lake Shore Drive at the intersection with North Main Street. The reason behind the change is to increase visibility of the crosswalk and appropriate turning signs on Lake Shore Drive near the Culver Elementary School. It will affect one parking spot.
The town council members approved the amendment on the first reading with a unanimous vote. Additional readings will be considered during the next meeting on June 11.
