The Marshall County Safety Committee brought a recommendation to the county commissioners to update an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the courthouse.
Safety Committee Chair and Commissioner Mike Delp explained that that AED at the Marshall County Courthouse is becoming obsolete and there aren’t parts available for it anymore. The Safety Committee requested the purchase of a new device for $1,000, which is the price that Coroner John Grolich quoted. Delp said he’d find funds in the commissioner’s budget to cover the cost.
Before voting on the recommendation, Commission President Kevin Overmyer suggested looking at the same devices at the county building. Delp said EMA Director Clyde Avery should have the information on the AEDs and will come before the commissioners in June for an update. A decision to purchase new devices could happen then.
