Marshall County residents should think of other areas to place signs instead of in the county’s right-of-way.
Marshall County Commissioner Mike Delp said he received complaints about signs in the right-of-way. He commented that he removes signs and returns them to the owner when he sees them in the right-of-way.
“There’s just several people that are sticking them anywhere that’s a popular road and a popular intersection,” said Delp. “Sell this or replace that or wash this or whatever. It’s been bothering me for a while.”
Delp added that he’s spoken to Plan Director Ty Adley who confirmed that the signs should not be in the right-of-way and should not be affixed to utility poles.
Delp noted that signs can be on private property with permission.
