Community Members Can Spot a Piece of Argos History in Future Parades

A truck that originally belonged to the Argos Fire Department back in the 1950s has made its way back into town.

Back in March, Fire Chief Mark Dean came before the council with a request to purchase back the vintage set of wheels from a woman in Indianapolis for $2,500. The council approved his request and members seemed excited about the possibility of utilizing the piece of Argos history for parades.

The vehicle has since been purchased and brought back into town. It has new brakes and it is drive-able.

In addition to recognizing the Department’s past with the purchase of this truck, officials are planning for the future by seeking some new firefighters. Town officials are looking to get about 10 new volunteers on the team.

If you are a dedicated community member interested in joining the Argos Volunteer Fire Department, you can pick up an application from Argos Town Hall. You can also access the document by visiting TownOfArgos.com.
