Town of Bremen Mourns Loss of Cemetery Superintendent

The Town of Bremen is mourning the loss of Bremen Cemetery Superintendent Steve Ervin.

Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said that Ervin passed away suddenly at his home around 4:45 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Emergency responders were called to his house during the town council’s meeting on Monday and officials were notified of his passing shortly after the meeting adjourned.

Town employees and officials gathered Tuesday morning at the Bremen Town Hall to remember Ervin.

Ervin worked for the Town of Bremen for 38 years.  Ervin was expected to retire in October, an announcement that was made during Monday’s meeting prior to the notification of his passing.

Weldy said the town passes along condolences to Ervin’s family.  No services have been announced at this time.
