The Culver Town Council members discussed a contract extension with the town’s current trash collection company this week.
In an earlier meeting in March, the council was advised that with overall recycling costs going up, the current provider of trash and recycling services indicated that residential costs could be going up 12 percent if the town renews the contact after June 30. After some discussion, the council opted to seek bids for services.
The company later met with town officials to offer a contract extension through June 30, 2020 with no changes to the contract and no rate increases.
That contract was up for council approval during Tuesday’s meeting which was approved with a unanimous vote. The council may bid out services beyond that contract extension.
