Marshall County Council Considers Additional Appropriation Requests

Several additional appropriation requests were considered by the Marshall County Council members Monday morning.

A request was made by the Marshall County Probation Department in the amount of $5,000 for urinalysis supplies.  This is requested every year where the funds are deposited into the Drug Free Committee line item and is designated to be transferred into the line item in the Probation Department.

Sheriff Matt Hassel requested an additional appropriation of $18,550 to purchase a new vehicle for the department.  The amount is what the insurance company paid the county for the vehicle totaled in a car vs. deer accident.  The purchase was previously approved by the county commissioners.

Sheriff Hassel also requested permission to use money from a $3,500 Drug Free Community Grant for an inmate treatment program.

Prosecutor Nelson Chipman requested a total of $4,749 for a camera for the Drug-Free Task Force and money for confidential funds.

All additional appropriation requests were approved unanimously by the council members.
