The Letter of Intent is due on Friday, April 5 for area regions looking to apply for the state’s Regional Stellar Communities Designation program.
The initiative is overseen by Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch. The Stellar Communities Program is a multi-year, multi-million dollar investment initiative led by OCRA. This program works with communities in developing regional development plans, promoting local and regional partnerships and increasing economic development.
The members that make up the Marshall County Crossroads Regional Stellar Initiative are ready to submit their application.
Culver Town Council President Ginny Bess Munroe reminded her fellow council members last week that Culver’s proposed project in the plan will change in this year’s application.
“Last year’s Regional Stellar project has now been funded by INDOT,” Munroe explained. “So, we can status the state agencies if that’s the case showing progress in last year’s plan, but for this year’s plan that will change.”
The proposed project that was awarded funds for the Town of Culver’s piece of the application was the third phase of the Lake Maxinkuckee bike and walking trail. The town council members have not yet chosen a different project to include in this year’s plan.
More information on projects in each town and entity for this year’s application will be rolled out in the coming months.
