The Culver Beach Lodge project cleared another hurdle Tuesday night when the Culver Town Council members accepted a bid for the extensive renovation of the building.
Bids were opened on Thursday, March 28 by Steve Park of Mosaic Building Solutions who helped design the renovations of the Beach Lodge. Bids were submitted by Hagerman Construction, Michiana Contracting and Monroe Construction and taken under advisement at that time.
During Tuesday’s council meeting, the members voted to accept the lowest total bid, including alternates, at a cost of $1,720,950 from Michiana Contracting. The total bid is about $250,000 over what is budgeted for the project.
The town received a $1.5 million OCRA grant for the project as part of the plans listed in the town’s designation as a Stellar Community. The rest of the funding could be appropriated from the Culver Redevelopment Commission and the CCD fund within the town’s budget, although no decisions regarding that were made Tuesday night.
The Culver Beach Lodge will undergo a major renovation with new plumbing, restroom fixtures, and electrical updates. You can take the help of professionals from a plumbing service like Slam Plumbing to get the most reliable and affordable plumbing services 24/7. The main floor will also under go a major facelift with an addition on the side facing the street to allow for a new staircase and elevator.
The project is anticipated to begin this spring with plans to work around the summer schedule at the Culver Town Park with completion in the fall.
