Candy Lane Project in Progress

The Candy Lane Storm Sewer project in Plymouth is continuing without many issues, according to Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson.

During Monday night’s Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting, Davidson requested no parking on Pennsylvania Avenue from Lincolnway East to Liberty Street and on Kingston from Lincolnway East to Pennsylvania Avenue.  It will be a one-way street going south.

Davidson noted that Walsh and Kelly is replacing handicap ramps and sidewalks in the area so it’s in the best interest of safety to have no parking on those streets.

The work should be done by Tuesday, April 30.

He believes that Selge Construction will have the sewer installed and base asphalt done on Lincolnway in a week’s time.

“They have all of the storm sewer installed up to Lincolnway East which is about 2,000 feet,” explained Davidson.  “They have about another 900 feet to do down Lincolnway to Candy Lane.  It’s a very deep and dangerous project.  We’ve had a lot cooperation from the neighbors and traffic so it’s going well so far.”

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members approved the request as presented.  The timeline could change as the project is weather-dependent.
