Plymouth City Council Approves Zoning Ordinance Amendment

The Plymouth City Council members discussed an amendment to the zoning ordinance that includes several additions to the permitting process.

City Plan Director Ralph Booker presented the amendment Monday night.

“Since the zoning ordinance was created, we have now given building permits for several different items such as demolitions, fences and walls, hedges, and roofs,” explained Booker.  “This is only a correction to the zoning ordinance to include those items into the zoning ordinance.”

The Plymouth Plan Commission members forwarded the amendment with a favorable recommendation.  It was placed under the zoning ordinance that contains processes, permits and fees as the last four items that require permits.  Building Commissioner Keith Hammonds also supports the amendment.

The Plymouth City Council members unanimously approved the amendment as presented.
