The Culver Town Council members were updated on the trailer court property on West Jefferson Street last week.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist said the Marshall County Unsafe Building Committee recently deemed it an unsafe property. The property owners did not appear at the meeting to comment on the action. The committee members allowed the property owners another 30 days to either repair the trailers on the property or remove them altogether.
Leist also mentioned that he, Building Commissioner Chuck DeWitt and Town Attorney Jim Clevenger will appear in court on Wednesday, March 6 to discuss the unsafe property at 709 Obipso Street. The town will suggest demolition or repair of the home by the property owner. Leist noted that the property has signs of animals getting into the building and bees and other insects have made nests in the walls.
