Firefighters from the Culver-Union Township Fire Department made a couple of water rescues in the past two weeks and the purchase of equipment to aid in those rescues has successfully helped firefighters, according to Fire Chief Terry Wakefield.
“Our guys that are divers have been in the water, ice water, and had a recovery of an animal on somebody’s property to help them out,” said Wakefield. “Last weekend we pulled out a guy off the ice who fell through with the equipment. So, it’s being used.”
Wakefield thanked the council this week for previously approving the purchase of that equipment.
