The Bremen Town Council members will soon discuss allowing German Township residents to utilize the town’s dump.
Director of Operations Trend Weldy told the town council members that he had a discussion with the utility superintendents and others about the matter. Some residents from outside the town limits of Bremen want to take their garbage to the town dump, but don’t have access to do so. Weldy said they are trying to come up with a solution with Township Trustee Benny Baker.

We’ll figure it out. We’ll wait and see what he comes up with. We talked about a figure – about $100 to $200 about buying card for those out of town. How that will come or not I don’t know.”
Meanwhile, Bremen Trash Days are set for Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on North Marshall Street. Weldy said he’s contacted the tire and shredding vendors, and Republic Services for the event. He plans to get a hold of the owner of Rochester Iron and Metal to ensure that they will be able to take discarded scrap metal.
During Trash Days, Bremen residents are encouraged to take miscellaneous trash, appliances, car and truck batteries, computers, TVs, and other electronics to the yard, waste and brush area on North Marshall Street. Rimless tires sized under 55” will be accepted at the same location. All appliances must be tagged and certified that the Freon has been removed.
The town will NOT accept paint, hazardous waste, microwaves, or propane tanks.
