Bremen Town Council Approves Police Vehicle Purchase

Officers with the Bremen Police Department will be getting a new vehicle.

The request was tabled from the March 4 meeting of the Bremen Town Council so Town Attorney Anthony Wagner could check the purchasing preference policy as Police Chief Brad Kile recommended a higher quote for the 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility Hybrid from Oliver Ford in the amount of $38,669.  Kile noted that they typically receive a vehicle from Oliver Ford to be used by the Drug Task Force for $1.00 a year.

Jordan Ford in Mishawaka provided the lowest quote for the same vehicle at $38,470.

Wagner informed the council that since the quote was under $50,000 and not over five percent of that cap, the recommendation could be approved.  With that clarification, the council members unanimously approved the purchase.
