Argos Town Council Passes Resolution Related to EMS Run Reports

A resolution related to EMS Department run reports that echoes state statute was passed at Wednesday night’s Argos Town Council meeting.

Town Attorney Derek Jones explained to town council members that there is a policy in Indiana’s administrative code regulating EMS procedures which states that all completed run reports must be turned into a “receiving facility” no later than 24 hours after a patient is delivered.

Jones elaborated, noting that a receiving facility includes a hospital or any location where an EMS employee drops off an individual. He added the reports can’t just be turned into the department director with the expectation that they’ll also be turned into the facility from there.

The adopted resolution states that if the run report is not turned in within the 24 hour window, then the employee will be required to forfeit their shift pay for that specific shift.
