Aquatics Center, Early Childhood Learning Center Projects Continue

The Aquatics Center and Early Childhood Learning Center construction projects are on schedule.

Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez told the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members that excavation of the swimming pool is ongoing and the roof is nearly complete.  The insulation is being installed at this time.  The cement in the deep end of the pool will be poured in the next few days.

The soils were tested as the excavation efforts were ongoing and no tainted soils were found.

Chavez said the Early Childhood Learning Center will have a completion date in May.

“They’re doing the finishing touches right now,” said Chavez.  “If you go, you’ll see the carpet being laid, the tile being laid, most of the bathrooms are completed, they hung the cabinets, and the cushioned ceiling tiles are set in place.”

Landscaping will be done once it gets warmer.

Growing Kids is expected to start operations in May.  A Grand Opening celebration will be planned shortly thereafter.
