The second phase of a comprehensive lift station replacement project will be sent out for bid soon.
Ken Jones from Jones Petrie and Rafinski (JPR) made the request at the Bremen Town Council meeting this week.
“Woodies Lane South is going to be a complete replacement,” said Jones. “It will be the same for 331 North. At Legner Street, that’s going to be pumps, valve vault, replacing valves and all new controls. Then at 106 East and Destiny Drive we are going to install a new valve vault and use the existing structure as the new wet well. New controls and new pumps will be installed. You’ll be at a place where all of your lift stations are rehabbed when we’re done with it.”
The Bremen Town Council members approved the request to advertise for bids with bid opening anticipated on Monday, March 25.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said TIF District funds have been budgeted for this project as approved by the Bremen Redevelopment Commission in addition to budget funds from the Wastewater, Sanitary and Storm Water Department for the portion of the project not covered by the TIF District.
