The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission will look into the feasibility of leasing another manufacturing facility in the TIF 3 District to attract additional jobs.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi explained to the commission members that once there is a successful effort to fill the manufacturing center in Argos, officials from the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation are looking build another manufacturing center in Plymouth and have revolving funds from Regional Cities to help with the project.
The city would lease the building with TIF funds, if available.
Surrisi said a certificate authorization would be needed. The commission members would need to engage the efforts of the accountants at Umbaugh and Associates to do a necessary study to see if a lease payment is feasible from the same TIF fund where the bond obligation for the Aquatic Center is situated.
The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission approved a motion to allow Umbaugh and Associates to prepare that certificate. More information will be provided in a future meeting.
