Bremen Town Council Receives FEMA Reimbursement, More Anticipated

The Bremen Town Council members learned Monday afternoon that the town received just under $108,000 in FEMA reimbursement money from damage from last February’s flood event.

Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said about $113,000 more is anticipated as the damages listed by FEMA total just over $221,000.

Debris removal is about $5,300 while the largest chunk is for utilities in the amount of almost $147,000.  The buildings and equipment loss was about $35,000 while the remainder of the potential reimbursement money includes roads and bridges, emergency protective measures, and direct administrative costs.

The Bremen Wastewater Plant sustained a lot of damage in last year’s flooding event while other areas in town were affected at the same time.
